Fort Lauderdale, Florida – November 2, 2006 – Over this month’s Thanksgiving Day weekend, Ft. Lauderdale will be host to over 1,000 softball players and their fans as they descend upon our community for the 12th Annual South Florida Amateur Athletic Association (SFAAA) sanctioned Hurricane Showdown.  Sidelines Sports Bar is proud to be one of the Host Sponsors of the event and will be the Host Party venue for the Open Division on Saturday, November 25, 2006 beginning at 8:00 p.m.

As Fort Lauderdale’s premier gay sports bar, Sidelines is the perfect place where gay men and women players, coaches, and fans can celebrate this exciting sporting event together. “We are so thrilled to be part of this tournament. We look forward to hosting people from all over the country visiting our club for the first time and seeing what we have to offer”, says Laurie, co-owner of the bar. 

In addition to the Host Party event on Saturday night, November 25, 2006, Sidelines Sports Bar has also sponsored a number of teams that will be competing for the tournament’s coveted trophies and yearlong bragging rights.
