Fort Lauderdale, Florida – September 4, 2006– Since its wildly successful opening, Sidelines Sports Bar continues to establish its commitment to athletic competition by representing a number of local gay sports teams in the Ft. Lauderdale, Wilton Manors and Oakland Park areas.

The Q Ball Pool League, Ft. Lauderdale’s billiard league for men and women, boasts sixteen (16) teams, of which Sidelines Sports Bar sponsors a total of four teams. Games are played every Tuesday night at 8:00 p.m. at various nightclubs in the area, including Sidelines, where pool is always FREE on Tuesdays to players and patrons alike. This social league emphasizes friendly competition and regardless of skill, looks forward to everyone having a good time and making new friends.  The owners of Sidelines Sports Bar are proud that two of Sidelines’ teams are currently ranked in the top five.

If bowling is the sport that strikes at your heartstrings, Sidelines Sports Bar has sponsored three (3) teams in United States Bowling Congress’ (USBC) sanctioned all gay leagues at Manor Lanes. The leagues play either on Sunday, Monday or Wednesday and are open to both men and women. Sponsor prizes, weekly jackpots and trophies are among the awards. Sidelines Sports Bar is also a sponsor of one of the most popular team sport in town - softball. If the recent inundation of softball players to our area from the NAGAAA Softball World Series was any indication as to the success of gay softball leagues in South Florida, then Sidelines Sports Bar’s three teams will assuredly enjoy the season’s competition - maybe even make it to next year’s World Series in Phoenix, AZ. You can catch the games at Mills Pond Park each Thursday night and Sunday afternoons. And, of course, the players all come back to Sidelines Sports Bar for victory parties and relaxation.
