Fort Lauderdale, Florida – June 15, 2007 – Sidelines Sports Bar is gearing up for the biggest party of the year – the 2007 Stonewall Street Festival. On Sunday, June 24th, Sidelines will open its doors early, in time for the Festival’s parade to pass by at 11:00 a.m. The staff and management of the popular, year-old gay sports bar has been feverishly getting ready for a day filled with sports, pride, friends and pure fun!

This year, the club will participate in the parade with a sports-themed float, yes - a float! The bar’s staff has been designing and will construct the carnival-like float which will haul some of the brawny, well built softball players of Sidelines’ sponsored teams. In addition, in collaboration with 97.3 The Coast and 93Rock radio stations, music vans, playing music from each station, along with a popular diva DJ, will be parked in front of Sidelines Sports Bar during the festival.

Additionally, for the second year in a row, Sidelines will be offering its “Annual Beer Bash” on Sunday. Customers can purchase a Sidelines Cup for $10 and drink FREE domestic draft all day, from open to close, while supplies last. “We did this last year and it was a huge success”, commented Laurie Whittaker, owner of Sidelines. “We are thankful of the success we’ve enjoyed this past year and wish to celebrate our gay pride with all our new friends and patrons”, continued Laurie.

Last but not least, members of the Sidelines Cyclones and the Sidelines Demons, two of the sports bar’s softball teams will man a Bacardi-sponsored bar tent along Wilton Drive. They’ll be mixing up cocktails for the festival goers throughout the day in an effort to contribute to the Pride Island festivities.

The party begins at 11:00 a.m. and will continue to closing at 2:00 a.m. There will be giveaways, prizes and lots of gay men and women enjoying the real party atmosphere that this day always benefits from. Let us not forget that the Stonewall Street Festival was formed in 2000 by Pride of Greater Fort Lauderdale (PGFTL), a non-profit organization, to celebrate the Stonewall Rebellion on New York's Christopher Street in June of 1969.
