SIDELINES SPORTS BAR SIZZLES
WITH PRIDE!
Fort Lauderdale, Florida – June 9, 2008 – Final plans are being tweaked as Sidelines Sports Bar gets ready for a “Sizzlin” weekend of fun and pride during the Stonewall Street Festival 2008 to be held from June 20 – 22, 2008. This year’s gay pride festival is sure to become one of the shining moments in the popular gay sports bar’s short two-year history. The talk of the town seems to swirl around Sidelines’ outdoor pavilion, in which tables and chairs will be set out under their 100-foot tent just outside the club’s entrance on Saturday afternoon. Here, patrons and festival attendees can enjoy Stonewall’s first-ever nighttime parade down Wilton Drive. Sidelines Sports Bar will, once again, submit a float entry to compete for the best overall float in the parade. This year’s “Locker Room” theme will feature some of Fort Lauderdale’s most strapping, young jocks and female athletes. Members of the gay softball team, the Sidelines Cyclones, coming off a first place championship win in the South Florida Amateur Athletic Association’s (SFAAA) 2008 spring season, will also be on hand to escort the Sidelines float along the parade route. Music of all types and tastes will be played both before and after the parade, and staged entertainment will be on hand all day on Sunday to welcome festival goers to the south end of “the drive”. Festival organizers have enlisted some of the city’s most renowned performers to ensure a fun and festive mood, the mantra of Sidelines. Inside, in a cooler and air-conditioned setting, customers can enjoy the day’s sporting events on one of the many flat-screen TVs, play a round of darts or pool, or simply savor a refreshing cocktail with new and old friends. Two-for-one drinks will be available on Saturday from noon until 9 PM and Sundays will feature $2 domestic draft beer for those festival attendees presenting a special 411 Magazine cup obtained at 411’s exhibit booth during the street festival. The Stonewall Street Festival 2008, put on by Pride of Greater Fort Lauderdale (PGFTL), a non-profit organization, commemorates the Stonewall Rebellion on New York's Christopher Street in June of 1969. In the gay world, it is a time to be proud. Gays in a growing number of cities and countries participate in annual parades, festivals and events collectively called gay pride. Gay men and women come out (some, literally) to attend these events as a way to show their pride and participate in the annual tradition of remembrance and celebration. Sidelines Sports Bar, with its 17 flat-screen TVs, 3 pool tables, 3 dartboards, and other videos games, continues to provide a fun, friendly and comfortable environment for gay men and women who enjoy all kinds of sports. The gay owned and operated club has rapidly become Fort Lauderdale’s premier gay sports bar. Sidelines Sports Bar is located at 2031-A Wilton Drive, Wilton Manors, Florida, 33305. Their telephone number is (954) 563-8001 or you can also visit them online at www.sidelinessports.com. ### If you'd like more information about Sidelines Sports Bar, please call Jennifer Morales at (305) 519-1876 or contact us.
