Fort Lauderdale, Florida – May 19, 2008 - Sidelines Sports Bar’s 2-year anniversary celebration, by all accounts, was a huge success. Many of the bar’s patrons, as well as a few newly drafted customers, came out to wish owners, Laurie Whittaker and Marty Kildea, and staff a Happy Birthday. It was two years ago that Sidelines, the popular gay sports bar, opened its doors on Wilton Drive. The anniversary celebration extended over three days - Saturday, May 10, Sunday, May 11, and Monday, May 12, 2008.

Festivities began on Saturday when Hotspots Magazine’s feature columnist Bob Kecskemety came to film a video for Queer Channel.tv, which is now live on our website at www.sidelinessports.com. An abundance of giveaways and prizes were given to customers throughout the weekend with a grand prize drawing held on Monday, May 12, 2008. Congratulations go to Phil for winning the big flat-screen television!

The most heart-warming moment came toward the end of the evening on Monday with a champagne toast from the entire staff, who also presented both Laurie and Marty with gifts, cards, and even a surprise Silly String shower!
