Fort Lauderdale, Florida – April 21, 2007– On May 12, 2006, Sidelines Sports Bar opened its doors for business as Fort Lauderdale’s first gay sports bar. Next month, Sidelines will celebrate its one year anniversary – and what a year it has been! The club received such a warm welcome from the local GLBT community in those early days; it even astounded its management. Each week more and more people were finding out about this new bar that catered to gay sports fans. Each weekend, sales grew, exceeding the week’s prior business.

Gay men and women came out to either watch their home teams play on one of the club’s huge flat-screen TV’s, challenge a friend to a round of pool or darts, or simply sit with friends over a cocktail to discuss the day’s events. This became the mantra for Sidelines’ customers, a place where one could feel “normal”, comfortable, relaxed and just have fun. That’s what garnered Sidelines Sports Bar the “Best Neighborhood Bar” distinction by the readers of Express Gay News.

The owners and staff of Sidelines Sports Bar are so grateful and appreciative to have such a solid core of regular and loyal customers that they have planned an extraordinary anniversary party. The celebration will extend over two days, Friday, May 11th and Saturday, May 12th. Anniversary drink specials will be offered all day and all night, from open to close, and include 3-4-1 on all well cocktails and draft beer; and 2-4-1 on all other drinks and bottled beer. Sidelines Sports Bar will also open its pool tables and dart boards for FREE play, all day and all night, from open to close. And if that’s not enough, on Saturday, May 12th the club will serve an open buffet from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Of course, a party would not be a party without giveaways, raffle drawings, and special gifts.
